02What data, why and on what basis

  • Contact form and email. Name, email, organisation and whatever you include in your message (for example, an event’s date and city). Purpose: replying to your speaking, advisory, press or collaboration request. Basis: your consent and, where applicable, pre-contractual measures (Art. 6.1.a and 6.1.b GDPR).
  • Newsletter. Your email. Purpose: sending you a monthly newsletter. Basis: your consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), confirmed by double opt-in and withdrawable at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email.
  • Usage statistics. Umami, a cookie-free analytics tool that stores no personal data and does not identify visitors; it only counts aggregate visits. Basis: legitimate interest in improving the site (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).
  • Technical preferences. The visual theme (light or dark) is stored in your browser (localStorage) and is never sent to any server.

No automated decisions or profiling take place.

03Retention

Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the request and then for the applicable legal periods. Newsletter data is kept while you remain subscribed and deleted when you unsubscribe.

04Recipients and processors

Data is not disclosed to third parties except where legally required. The following act as processors under an Art. 28 GDPR agreement:

  • Web hosting: Webempresa Europa, S.L. (España).
  • Newsletter delivery: Buttondown.

Where any of these providers is outside the European Economic Area, transfers are covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

05Your rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, and withdraw consent, by writing to hola@javierescorihuela.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).

06Security

Appropriate technical and organisational measures are applied to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk.

07Changes

This policy may be updated. The current version will always be on this page, with its date.
